Acetylene environments prevent the use of elements with copper compositions exceeding 65%. Both aluminum-bronze and 
copper-beryllium alloys have copper percentages higher than 65%. Copper can react with acetylene, creating highly explosive acetylides in themselves. For this reason, the use of either copperberyllium or aluminum-bronze alloys in acetylene environments is not recommended.
